I am seeing a Search Console error starting on 3/8 missing mainEntityOfPage

I created the FAQ page with Yoast FAQ Block.

You made a change to the plugin 15.9.1
    Release Date: March 4th, 2021
Removes mainEntityOfPage from our FAQ Schema block output and moves it to mainEntity on the WebPage output, fixing a Google parse issue with those FAQ blocks.

Now Search Console flags this as an error.

Please provide a fix for your fix. Thanks.

Thanks for reaching out here. The fix we have made on Yoast SEO v15.9.1 was specific to the Google Search Console as well where Google changed the way it parses the FAQ schema markup. The fix we have released worked for everyone that we are aware of so far.

That said, we have tested the relevant page on our end by using the Google Structured Data Testing Tool and were able to reproduce the issue on our end. We see the mainEntity field is missing a value and as such, the relevant error is occurring for you.

When looking deeper, we see that you’re still running Yoast SEO v15.9 which is outdated and doesn’t contain the relevant fix. Please, update Yoast SEO to the latest version and that shall fix the issue for you.

    Hi,

Once you update to v15.9.1 of the Yoast SEO for WordPress plugin, it should resolve the “missing field ‘mainEntity'” error, which you can then validate and confirm in Google’s Structured Data Testing Tool.

Please do let us know if you still have any issues or concerns after updating!
