    Solved Question #1:
FAQ order with plugin: Simple Custom Post Order

Rather than introduce another plugin you can order your questions using the date or time that each question was published. The “newest” question appears as the first question. Just amend the time that each question was published using the quick edit link in your list of questions. If you set 10 mins or 1 hour between each question there is plenty room to place another question at a later date between two other questions.

    Hope that helps.

Any word on the plugin author? Does anyone know if the plugin will be maintained? He doesn’t seem to be answering any support questions.

He’s making comments in other forums, just not here.

BTW, can you share how you got this plugin to work?

I created an faq, then on a new page used the shortcode [faqs]. No output.

    Thx

I’m assuming that you published the FAQ that you wrote. After you write each new FAQ you need to publish it. When this is done you add the shortcode [faqs]like you have said. Publish that page and it should be there when you view the page.

Just an afterthought – I added [faqs] in the text editor and not the visual editor. Don’t think that should matter but perhaps worth a try.

    Thanks.

There is a problem that when I publish the FAQ, it loads a page-not-found page. It should show. Did yours show or is there a code change? Not sure it should be this complicated ??

    Hi,

When you publish each individulual question (FAQ)you should then be able to go to FAQs >> All FAQs in you dashboard side menu to see a list of all of your FAQs. This process does not make your FAQ page visible.

You must add a new page called something like “Frequently Asked Questions”. In that page add the shortcode [faqs]. Then publish the page. Click view page near the top of the page and you should see your page with all your questions.

If I have misunderstood you please send the URL of you FAQ page and I will have a look.

I’m sorry to take your time. I did as you mentioned a few times – I deactivated this plugin – there must be a conflict with another plugin – the FAQ page I created was rendering without a footer and sidebar, so it must be the plugin as all was fine beforehand.

I have uninstalled but see there are still some traces of it – I will now need a plugin to delete those – hehe.

Thanks for the offer though, it was much appreciated.

    No problem.

Hope you get things sorted out.
