FAQs always briefly show expanded then quickly collapse…can I stop?

In short…when a page with the plugin code loads, all of the FAQs are briefly shown as expanded, then they all automatically collapse. Is there any way to prevent them from showing as expanded (briefly) to begin?

I have a page with code
[faq orderby=menu-order group=product]

When the page loads for a visitor (either first time, or returning in the same session, even simply reloading), the FAQs (say ~10 or so) will all show first as expanded (!) for just a second or two, then they will all collapse.

I would have thought that when you visit a page that all the FAQs show as collapsed to start (so you just see “+” with the FAQ title), and then you can expand a particular FAQ as desired.

This is the same for all pages on the site that leverage the plugin. Some pages seem to show the FAQs expanded for a bit more time than other pages, however (long enough that it seems like unusual behavior for a visitor)

Is that normal behavior? Any advice would be great!
