far too complicated

  • 12/13 Updated review > after some practice and testing the attributes global is making sense and the variations at the product level are easy if global attributes are set up before needed at the product level. Complicated yes with a steep learning curve IMO. But WC will definitly do some cool display on the front end. I like the image handling in particular. It is nice and sharp. I will update this review as I practice more and get my live site going.
    12/22/17 87 new problems on support board in last 24 hours speaks for complicated process of woocommerce. I have found an online store to try that looks good and affordable.
    Update is back to 1 star TOO COMPLICATED My original impressions are correct. 2 weeks reading the docs, setting up csvs with correct column heads, lots of testing and still no published variable products from my test. All ways out of stock because IMO and testing show the importer does not work as the docs say it should. Life is too short. I will stick with my existing system which takes orders, payments, and tells me to send the products. And I update prices once a year. Can’t beat that.
    12/26 Back to 3 stars — finally got the WC supplied importer to work. for those reading this review see thread 9807816 my last post for solutions to the problems I had getting the importer to work for me. You may be making some of those mistakes. I still believe this process could be made more simple.

    Even MarketPress does it easier. ONE screen to handle sku, variation label, inventory, sale price and dates, and shipping. easy peasy compared to the 7 or 8 screens woocommerce uses when you input manually. What a waste of labor. About 15 minutes per product just to modify the original input.
