Fast, Lightweight, and Elegant

  • In the past I have been disappointed in various ways by plugins that implement Google Maps. Mostly they have added weight, complexity and download time to my websites.

    One very promising plugin (with a similar name to GMW) was great in its Free form, if just one or two features short of what I needed. I optimistically bought the Paid version.

    SURPRISINGLY the (unnamed) plugin added a huge block of code – 20 (twenty) GETs, numerous Google fonts and also a few API calls. One could do a huge variety of things with the Paid plugin features – most of which I would never need – at the cost of TRIPLING the website load time :-\

    Seeking a very lightweight replacement for the above, I encountered Google Maps Widget. GMW is the right balance of features, overhead and good looks for my map implementations.

    GMW is also a bit subtle as regards implementing some advanced features. NOT A PROBLEM as it has enabled me to report that GMW has EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SUPPORT.

    CS rep Ivan responded quickly and clearly to my ticket, explained how the plugin worked, described a limitation or two that GMW had, then accessed my WP Installation to install a map that exactly met my needs – that’s Extraordinary Service!

    Yes. I recommend GMW ??
