    Version 4.0 beta FAQ

    How do I install it?

    If you DO have version 3.xx installed now:
    Go to the form edit page, scroll down the settings until you find the ‘Backup tool’, select ‘All forms’ and backup your form settings. The 4.0 version will import your settings automatically. If you backup your settings before upgrading, you can restore them any time using the ‘Restore tool’ on the ‘Tools’ tab.

    The 4.0 version stores the settings in a different WP options name so it will not overwrite the settings from prior versions. Before you upgrade, please use the ‘Backup tool’ to save your form settings in case anything goes wrong. Caution: if you deactivate the plugin and click to “delete all plugin related files”, then the settings from either version ARE PERMANENTLY DELETED from WP. This is why using the ‘Backup tool’ to save your form settings is all ways a good idea.

    Before continuing, please be sure you have used the ‘Backup tool’ to save your form settings, as explained above.
    Since it is a beta, it is not available for automatic install yet. You have to manually install it.
    Download the zip file of the most recent Beta version (button on this page)
    Unzip the file you downloaded.
    Deactivate, but DO NOT Delete the Fast Secure Contact Form plugin. from the WordPress plugins menu.
    FTP connect to your server and navigate to the ‘/wp-content/plugins’ directory.
    Delete the ‘si-contact-form’ folder, since this is the old version.
    FTP upload the new ‘si-contact-form’ folder from your unzipped download folder to the
    ‘/wp-content/plugins’ directory.
    Activate plugin via the Installed Plugins menu in the WordPress Dashboard

    If you DO NOT have version 3.xx installed now:

    Beta testers, please share your feedback on the plugin
    We welcome enhancement suggestions, any errors or issues you encounter.
    Please post them in this support forum.

    Please report any errors or bugs in A NEW TOPIC in this Support Forum.

  • Uploaded it as a ZIP file (of the subfolder) and I tested it on the multi-site with domain mapping.

    It WORKS! Can’t wait until I can do automatic install and do the rest of my sites.

    Thanks for the report. Glad it works

    Hi Mike, this version is really better but I had a problem with styles. When I define a color for the label of the form, the color is auto set to #333333. Here is the code auto generated:

    div.fscf-container label {
    color: #333333;
    }

    I found the code in the fscf-styles.css archive and comment it, so solved the problem:

    .fscf-field-left {clear:left; float:left; margin-right:10px;}
    .fscf-field-follow {padding-left:10px;}
    .fscf-clear {clear:both;}
    /* div.fscf-container label {color:#333333;} */

    Mike, I didn’t find the field to change the following text: Please select a valid date in this format.

    mrogero, thanks for the report, I will fix those issues.

    Mike

    Mike, I can’t disable the information about sender, even if the button ” Enable sender information in email footer” isn’t marked.

    My site is: eventoscorporativos.com.br/fale-conosco

    Mike, another problem, the backup tool isn’t working. When I click it go to a empty page and nothing happens. If you need to test in my site let me know, I’ll create a password for you. Thanks!

    mrogero, all the issues you reported are fixed in the current download. Thanks

    Thanks Mike, I’ve downloaded the current version and I’ll testing it. If have some problem I’ll report.

    Mike, I found a new issue, see in my site: https://eventoscorporativos.com.br/fale-conosco

    In the field “Escolha a atra??o” (means “choose an attraction”) is appearing a empty checkbox. The field is exactly like this:
    Estátua Viva
    Realejo
    Repentistas
    Futebol Free Style

    I’ve checked and don’t have any space below “Futebol Free Style”.
    In the previous beta version wasn’t appearing this empty field.

    Thread Starter Mike Challis

    (@mikechallis)

    That is fixed in the current download. It was only broken for a hour while you downloaded it. Sorry.

    Here is a small list of things I have changed since it came out Aug 15. I have not made it beta 2 yet.

    Fix bug: max_forms_num could get out of sync when deleting forms.
    Fix bug: setting was ignored “Enable sender information in email footer”
    Moved “Enable PHP sessions” setting to the Advanced tab.
    Optimize backup file download then test with IE, FF, Chrome, Opera.
    Added form_number to the ‘fsctf_mail_sent’ action hook object array
    Added Domain Protect Settings to the ‘Security’ settings tab
    Added setting for “Additional allowed domain names(optional)” to the ‘Security’ settings tab.
    Added message and focus to new field when adding new field.
    Fixed and added some error label settings.
    Added show/hide details labels to field settings toggle buttons.
    Updated admin and form stylesheets.
    Edited some settings labels.
    Minor UI changes.

    Thread Starter Mike Challis

    (@mikechallis)

    Fix bug: Custom Label CSS was ignored for checkbox, checkbox-multiple, and radio fields.
    Fix bug: CSS setting ‘labels on left’ messed up checkbox, checkbox-multiple, and radio fields.
    Fix bug: CSS setting ‘labels on left’ messed up HTML before/after form field position.

    Thanks Mike, I’ve downloaded the current version. Your plugin has everything to be the best of WP, congratulations!

    Mike, I didn’t find the link to HostGator to ensure your sales charge. Please send it to me earliest possible, I’m needing to start an reseller account.

    Thanks.
