Fata Error notification

  • I’m trying to moderate comments on my blog (I’ve had a lot of explicit spam recently). I have over 150 spam comments daily for the last three days.

    I have 100+ waiting to be spammed / deleted but when I try to log in I get this:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_taxonomies_for_attachments() in /websites/123reg/LinuxPackage21/ad/ri/an/adriangeorge.me/public_html/wordpressapp/wp-admin/menu.php on line 67

    HELP!! I don’t know what to do. I’m a newbie and not a technie at all :o(

  • Try to deactivate all plugins, revert to Twenty Twelve theme and see if the error goes away.
    You are using an older version of WordPress. Try to update to the latest version. Old software cause all kinds of problems including malware infections and getting hacked.

    Once you have sorted it out I would suggest you use a plugin that deletes pending comments or bulk delete comments. I used to get hundreds of spam comments each day and got fed up of going through all of them.

    I used to manually delete comments – select a whole range of them then click delete, and I always got server errors, guaranteed!, and it would take ‘forever’ to wait for the delete process to complete. Using the plugin to delete takes a few seconds and you can delete all pending comments.
