R.Krasner? Can you please calmly create one topic in that plugin’s dedicated support sub-forum?
https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/wplegalpages#postform
Posting repeatedly in someone elses topic and all over the place isn’t going to solve your problem. Keep in mind that this plugin is free and you do not have to use it. The author is providing this plugin and support on their own time.
I did calmly create one topic, but the author chose to treat me as if I knew what he was talking about, and as if I was a fellow developer, which I am not.
I do not know HTML, I do not code software, so to expect me to fix a problem that is beyond my understanding is like expecting me to perform brain surgery.
Mr. Wells’ attitude is that he is not responsible if HIS software is unable to work with other WP software, and it is our responsibility to fix HIS mistakes.
You and Mr. Wells must keep in mind that not all users are as smart as you are, so it is your responsibility to answer us with respect and treat us as such, and not like one of your peers.
I tried to use a different landing page plugin, but that costs money. Mr. Wells wanted me to do something that I have no right to do, because I am working on someone else’s website. That person has allowed me access to the site because we are putting together a business opportunity. But the attitude of Mr. Wells is preventing me from creating a landing page for the opportunity my partner and I are working on, and that is why I am trying to get this problem resolved ASAP.
Telling me that this is free and that I don’t have to use it is a cop-out…I have to use it because it is the only one here that does not require spending money that we don’t have at the moment. Your developers should be more considerate and responsible to users and not dismissive as Mr. Wells has been.
When Mr. Wells will treat me with respect, and not assume that I understand what he is talking about, then perhaps I will not be so angry, but he leaves me no choice but to be this way.
This is a problem of generations…the techie generation and the ones that came before them…but it is the techies who need to respect us, not the other way around…you are building software for our use, we are not here to be abused by developers.
I’m still waiting for an answer to my original pots and for an immediate fix to the problem.
I told Mr. Wells that I am not a programmer, that I am not a developer, and don’t know HMTL, but that did not matter to him…all he wanted to do was to shirk his responsibility to fix a problem his software has with other software on WordPress.
In certain disciplines, that attitude is called “the mean green vMeme”, and is represented by this open-source, democratic access to information, but lo if you don’t know what we know, then you and your agenda is not important to us and our agenda.
I did calmly create one topic, but the author chose to treat me as if I knew what he was talking about, and as if I was a fellow developer, which I am not.
Then I’m sorry but you really need to consider help outside of these forums. You apparently have a technical problem and that requires a technical solution. You don’t need to be a developer but you may need to know your way around your files, error logs, etc. to resolve that problem.
You and Mr. Wells must keep in mind that not all users are as smart as you are, so it is your responsibility to answer us with respect and treat us as such, and not like one of your peers.
These support forums are 100% staffed by volunteers such as yourself. You are our peer and not having the same level of technical ability doesn’t change that.
Telling me that this is free and that I don’t have to use it is a cop-out
No, it really isn’t. There’s no warranty for any of the software here and posting 40+ times the same thing is considered abusive. Those duplicates were deleted. Please stick to one topic and stop posting the same errors over and over again. That behavior is not tolerated here.
You’re a plugin user. You are not the plugin author’s customer and the author does not owe you anything. If this plugin doesn’t work for you then I sincerely recommend that you consider another solution. Demanding that the author fix it for you ASAP wont inspire anyone to help you out.
If you want to work with the author to resolve your problem then please do. Just be aware that may include a technical discussion.
If you want to post repeatedly the same thing then this topic too will be closed down as that’s not productive.
I am not your peer, so don’t treat me as one. I am not a volunteer, either.
Don’t expect every user to understand what you understand…that is the problem with you techies…you think and act like computers.
>>>>>You don’t need to be a developer but you may need to know your way around your files, error logs, etc. to resolve that problem.<<<
No, I don’t need to know my way around files, error logs, etc….that is not what I do. I’m sorry that you don’t understand that, but not being sensitive to others is a Green Meme problem.
Then it sounds like you are asking for help through the wrong medium. Forums have their limitations. All people here can do is give advice, and you need to be able to work with them just as a peer would (nice analogy Jan). This is a limitation of using any forum.
I am not a peer, and should not be treated as such.
Then I am sorry but we cannot help you here.
the error is caused by the fact that the two plugins – ‘legal pages’ and ‘landing pages’ – are trying to declare a function with the same name.
the easiest way to stop the error is to deactivate one of the plugins; you need to decide which one you need more.
only one of the plugins ‘landing page’ seems to be from the free plugins directly provided by www.ads-software.com; you already tried to get a solution from the developer; https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/fatal-error-on-activation-19?replies=34#post-5456357
the other plugin ‘legal pages’ is likely from a different source – please post the download link if you think it is directly from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/.
there is nothing this forum can do to help with that plugin.
please try to contact that plugin’s developer directly.quote from your other topic:
No…not my site, I am working with the owner on a business opportunity and he is letting me use his website
in this case, contact the owner and get him to fix the problem.
