Fatal Error

  • I am getting the following error message and it is not letting me update options, nor emailing comments to me:

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare sanitize_option() (previously declared in /home/debunot/public_html/wp-admin/options.php:13) in /home/debunot/public_html/wp-includes/formatting.php on line 1121

    I have researched and found posts that touch on this, but no real answer. I appreciate any help!

  • upload a new copy of wp-includes/formatting.php for the version of wordpress you are using.

    delete the copy of that file that currently exists on your server first.

    If you actually look at that file, nowhere inside it is sanitize_option called, much less defined.

    Whooami, Thanks so much. I have done that a few times now and unfortunately it does not resolve the problem. I have the newest release of WP if that helps.

    Whooami, thanks so much for helping. I went back and studied the error, then looked at options.php. It had that entire bit of code already so I just deleted that section out of formatting.php. It seems to be working, fingers crossed. Thanks again!

    Do you have any idea of this error??
