I downloaded and attempted to activate this plugin, but received a fatal error:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/content/59/7436559/html/wp-content/plugins/church-metrics-dashboard/lib/Church_Metrics_Dashboard_Class.php on line 1080

Is this an error with my site, with this plugin and my version of wordpress, or something else entirely? Any help you can offer will definitely be appreciated!

It looks like it might be related to the version of PHP that’s running. Can you guys tell me which version of PHP you have running on your sites?

Thanks for the response! I’m running PHP version 5.4.45.

@dvelluppillai Hmm…anonymous functions should work in that version of PHP. Are you sure that you’re getting the same error?

Yep, same error – copied and pasted below:

Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION in /home/unite/public_html/wp-content/plugins/church-metrics-dashboard/lib/Church_Metrics_Dashboard_Class.php on line 1080

Hi again, turns out I was wasting your time – sorry! cpanel reported I was using PHP version 5.4.45, but when I checked using the “health check” plugin, it turns out I’m using 5.2.17 – and I need version 5.3+ to run anon. functions. I’ll follow up with my host. Many thanks for your help.

    No problem dvelluppillai.

PHP v5.2 reached its end of life almost 5 years ago. Your host should be able to update it for you.

I just checked my version, and it was 5.0.2!! I’m in the process of backing up and upgrading it now. I’ll post an update when it’s completed. Thank you!
