Fatal error

  • Tried to change my theme yesterday and now I am getting this error, even when I try to log on to the dashboard. What should I do?

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function get_parent_theme_file_path() in /home1/sflande1/public_html/wp-content/themes/fotografie/functions.php on line 293

  • Hello, soullove73, & welcome. There are a few things you can do. The easiest is likely to simply upload a new copy of the theme, using either FTP, or your hosting provider’s file manager. If for some reason you cannot do that, then rename the active theme folder–we often suggest adding a 1 or a .old to the end of the –folder name–& this should allow you to log back into your dashboard & change the active theme.

    get_parent_theme_file_path() is a relatively recent addition to WordPress. After doing Jackie’s suggestions make sure WordPress is up to date, then you should be able to use the theme.
