• I was trying a plug in “Font” After activating it I can no longer access my dashboard Each time I try, I get the following error message:

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare mycustomstyles() (previously declared in /home/content/89/7804889/html/wp-content/plugins/font/Font.php:170) in /home/content/89/7804889/html/wp-content/plugins/fontsforwebcom-webfonts-plugin/WPFontsForWebwebfontsplugin.php on line 126

Does anyone have any idea how to work around this problem.

  • I can see immediately what’s the problem. You have installed plugin twice. One “fontsforwebcom-webfonts-plugin” is very old version so remove it.

Solution is very simple remove folder: “fontsforwebcom-webfonts-plugin”
    from “wp-content/plugins” directory

Today, less than 60 minutes ago, I initiated installation into WP 3.1.3 the font plug-in. I received the following FATAL error

    ——————
Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING, expecting T_OLD_FUNCTION or T_FUNCTION or T_VAR or ‘}’ in /hermes/bosweb/web063/b632/sl.billford/public_html/wp/wp-content/plugins/font/Font.php on line 16
    ———————
The plug-in did not automatically activate and I have not attempted to manually “click on” activate.

    Your resolve would be appreciated.

Just as we were writing in emails I will also reply here if anyone else has similar problem:

The reason of this fatal error is server running on PHP 4 which is not supported by my plugin. Upgrade to PHP 5 is very simple.

My plugin was released after wordpress has ended supporting PHP 4

….had server upgrade PHP. Cured the “parse fatal error” problem. Then another problem came up… plug-in uses a “mini-browser” superimposed next to the editor which is used to select a font. But the mini browser kept on “downloading” but never stopped and nothing appeared. That problem was cured by opting for Google Chrome browser. Apparently the plug-in doesn’t like IE.xx.

Consider THIS member’s issue “resolved”…. sort of.

    “Apparently the plug-in doesn’t like IE.xx.”

That’s almost true as it doesn’t like IE 7 and below. In next release I’ll mention that plugin requires at least:

-PHP 5.3 just like any current wordpress release
-IE 8+ or FF 3.6+ or Chrome 9+ or Safari 4+

These are requirements for admin side, but for visitors these requirements are not applicable as fonts are working in all modern browsers.

    thanks,
    Pawel

i’ve installed the font plugin and the font browser will not seem to load, i’ve tried to deactive and delete and then reload the plug in . any suggestions?
