Fatal Error

  • I tried to install WD Backup and received a fatal error as follows:
    Fatal error: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘/home/anewle9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backup-wp/Buwd_Destination_Dropbox.php’ (include_path=’.:/usr/lib/php:/usr/local/lib/php’) in /home/anewle9/public_html/wp-content/plugins/backup-wp/backup-wordpress.php on line 23
    The site is experiencing technical difficulties. Please check your site admin email inbox for instructions

    I had to call my hosting provider to be able to get back to my Dashboard. I tried activating the plugin with the hosting rep on the phone and it crashed again.

  • Firstly I’m no expert on these things but a couple of things to try.

    1. What version of PHP is your site using? That might be the issue.

    2. In the past when I’ve had problems with installing plug-ins of any kind. I’ve FTP’d in to my site gone to the wp-content/plugins folder and looked for the problematic plug-in. Delete the folder for that plug-in.

    Then try reinstalling it. Most times that does work for me.
