    Hi,

WP STMP suddenly caused a fatal error on my site (hosted in wordpress.com).

I noticed it first when emails (through memberpress plugin) stopped sending. I noticed in STMP it seems like things had “reverted,” my settings were no longer there and there was a critical site error. Deactivating and Reactivating the plugin caused the entire backend dashboard to crash.

Please see the error below from wordpress.com support:

PHP Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘WPMailSMTP\Vendor\Google_Client’ not found in /srv/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/wp-mail-smtp/src/Providers/Gmail/Auth.php:92

They recommended to be in touch here.

Any idea what the issue can be here?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hi @yonatanrabinovitch,

did you by any chance install/update the plugin yesterday? Around 25 hours ago?

There was a small window of around 5-10 minutes when that file was missing from the plugin repository.

Please deactivate and delete the WP Mail SMTP plugin and install it again. After you reinstall it, please check the plugin settings and send another Email Test. Let us know if everything is OK.

    Take care!

    Hi Gregor,

Thanks for the quick response! Turns out jetpack autoupdated the plugin, I guess in that window ??

Will try this and repost here.

    thanks!
