Fatal Error after 2.8 Upgarde

  • I have noticed similar issues with other people and I have tried to remove all my plugins and revert back to the default theme via my server to no avail. Does anyone have any further suggestions? This is the exact error:
    Fatal error: Call to undefined function: _weak_escape() in /home/content/o/r/c/orca42160/html/wordpress/wp-includes/wp-db.php on line 487

    Let me state that although I can teach myself by tinkering around I am a complete beginner at wordpress and code. I also did bot back up my pages and I am curious is downgrading the wordpress will erase all my contect?

  • I had the same error, and following this procedure worked perfect for me. It is entitled “How to deactivate all plugins when not able to access the administrative menus?” and I used the second alternative, via the FTP (since I don’t know much about code either). I did not lose anything in my database.

    I’m having problems on all of my 8 blogs after upgrading. The only true fatal error I can see, however, was releasing the new version.
