Fatal error after 2.8.9 update, site down

    After updating to 2.8.9 via WP updater, the site went down. Replaced with version 2.8.3. If I try to activate 2.8.9 I get this error:
    Plugin could not be activated because it triggered a fatal error.

    Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_STRING in /home2/clarisco/public_html/update/wp-content/plugins/download-manager/download-manager.php on line 12
