Fatal error after latest update

    The plugin auto updated and triggered a fatal error on my site

    WordPress version 6.0.3
    Active theme:? (version )
    Current plugin: Easy Digital Downloads (version 3.1.1)
    PHP version 7.2.31

    An error of type E_PARSE was caused in line 145 of the file

    If that doesn’t resolve the issue, can you please include the remaining part of the error as it seems to be cut off, and doesn’t include what file threw this error.

    after downloading it, it says it has to make changes to my wordpress database? Why is it that this update is so intrusive?
    dont change what isn’t broken?

    @leschia What version of EDD were you previously running? It sounds like you were running a version lower than 3.0, which was released back in July of 2022.

    We haven’t released an update to EDD that required making database changes since July of 2022. If you are updating from a 2.x version of EDD to 3.x, this is a major update that moves all of our purchase records into custom database tables to allow for performance improvements, drastically better reporting, and many new features along with those.
