After migrating a site to a GoDaddy server (Ultimate Linux account) I’m getting the following error when clicking on a download link:

Fatal error: Uncaught exception ‘Exception’ with message ‘Unable to insert log item in WordPress database’

The file is definitely in the correct location and it works correctly on the staging server (standard Cpanel Linux host, not GoDaddy). Everything else on the site seems to be working.

Any idea as to the cause and solution?

    Thanks!

    Hey @goatlady ,

Thanks for your patience and I’m sorry to hear that.

I suspect the log table not to be (correctly) migrated. Do you have direct access to your database? If so, can you check if the log table is created and has the same prefix as your other tables?

    Kind Regards,

Thanks for your response – it turns out that it was something to do with unsupported collation types in MySQL on GoDaddy, because a second migration attempt using the Duplicator Pro plugin (checking the box for legacy collation type support) was completely successful.
