Ever since I updated the plugin this morning, when I make a change to a post, I get this message:
Fatal error: Call to undefined method GoogleSitemapGenerator::CheckForAutoBuild() in /home/inbetween/public_html/wp-content/plugins/google-sitemap-generator/sitemap.php on line 152

  • Hi,

did the update complete? This function does not exist anymore and has been removed some versions ago. It looks like you still have some old files. Can you try to delete the plugin and install it again? Thanks!

Arnee, I deactivated the plugin until my tech person could look at it. He said it was caused by: “security settings in your blog/hosting wouldn’t allow the plugin to remove the old sitemap files from the directory.” So he deleted the plugin and added it back and all is well now. Just passing this along in case it helps someone else.

Thanks for the feedback! Maybe the plugin was installed manually and not by WordPress, in this case the permissions could not match.

It may have been installed manually by the developer I hired a few years ago to move my blog from Blogger to WordPress. Thanks again!
