    Hi,

We’re getting the following error as soon as we activate the plugin:

There has been a critical error on this website.

After enabling debugging, this is the actual error:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 2147483648 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 33554440 bytes) in /var/www/vhosts/website.com/stag.website.com/wp-includes/class-wpdb.php on line 3162

As you can see, we have more than enough memory.

We’re running WP 6.3.1 in multisite (enabling the plugin only on the site that has WooCommerce), PHP 7.4, and WooCommerce 8.0.1.

Any idea what could be causing this?

    Hi @camiloluna

We have a guide available on our website on what steps to take if you have encountered this error – you can find more information here https://wpdesk.net/docs/how-to-check-and-set-memory-limit-for-wordpress/.

    Hi @tomaszwp and @dominikl65,

Unfortunately not. As you can see on my initial inquiry, we have 2GB of RAM, which is also shown on the WooCommerce System Status page, and should be more than enough to handle this.

We’re on PHP 7.4, so that shouldn’t be the issue either.

Any other ideas on what could be causing this?

    Thanks,

I apologize for the waiting time.

Please check the local memory limit value in the php.ini file on the server.
I will also be grateful for information whether this is the first installation of our plugin or whether it has been used before on this site.

I checked activation on a test installation with multisite and did not encounter a similar problem.

    Hi @tomaszwp ,

I checked php.ini as well as phpinfo() and everywhere we get the same ~2GB value.

Our site is using over a hundred plugins, so I’m assuming it’s not playing well with one of those.

This is the first installation of the plugin, we wanted to test if this would work for one of our specific needs, so tried to test the free version before upgrading, but were unable to test it because of the error.

    Hi @camiloluna,

I apologize for the long wait for a reply. It may be that other plugins are overloading your site – causing Flexible PDF Invoices to not work properly. Do you perhaps have a staging or copy of your site to test if Flexible PDF Invoices is working properly after disabling other plugins?

    Hi @camiloluna

Have you had a chance to check the memory usage in a staging environment. It would be great to test with Storefront (default WooCommerce theme) and activate one plugin at the time to check if the memory usage has spikes after you activate the specific plugin. You may also check if there are any plugins that may use more memory for example plugins to synch. with external services or websites or mass managing products, orders, or posts. Let me know if you have any questions and if you’ve managed to check the above points (in a staging env or your site).

    Hi @dominikl65 @tomasz_bednarek

Unfortunately this is a multisite install with 100+ plugins, so it’s not going to be feasible to test one by one and find the culprit. We’ve never had this error before, so it’s safe to assume that Flexible PDF Invoices is not playing nice with one of those.

    We’ll look for an alternative.

    Thanks.

    Hi @camiloluna

Of course, I understand. If you’d like me to test it in staging env. or have any further questions, just let me know ??

    Best,
