    Good whatever (morning/afternoon/night) to everybody,

I ran into a memory allocation that made me getting nuts !

It seems that change in the memory allocation in the plug-in has just no impact.
As mentioned in the title the Wordfence plug-in stop because it finds not enough memory.
I made the changes to both my server configuration and the Wordfence plug-in to allocate 256M but it appears that the limit might be hard-coded somewhere because the scan stops with that message :

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 134217728 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 481 bytes) in /xxx/xxx/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/wordfence/lib/wordfenceHash.php on line 326

Hoping that it helps others !

    Have a nice day

  • As with any software you use, the demands that it do more and improve over time sometime mean that more resources are used. You want to be protected from threats, have the ability to block brute force attempts, etc and there is a cost of resources for those things. Depending on all the other plugins you have on your site, your theme, your traffic, the server, well, you can and will run out of memory if php is not configured to have enough. Its not hard coded anywhere. The software takes what it takes and if it is the straw that broke your proverbial camel’s back, it reports it as us.

If you don’t mind use pastebin to show me a copy of your server configuration (link at the bottom of your WF options page) and a list of plugins so I can figure out what is going on.

    Hello Tim,

thank you for your quick answers.

In fact , I found where it comes from. It’s not at all from Wordfence, but from the “All In One SEO Pack” that has a “performance” module that limits the amount of memory …
