    Hi,

I am having an issue that is quite annoying at times when either adding or editing posts and it seems the NextGEN Gallery plugin is causing the problem. I disabled all my plugins and did not recieve any major issues but when I reactivated the NextGEN Gallery this problem re-emerges.

What happens is that when I click on Publish/Update on a post or page, this error message is displayed:

Fatal error: Allowed memory size of 41943040 bytes exhausted (tried to allocate 786432 bytes) in public_html/wp-includes/SimplePie/Item.php on line 2736

Other locations do sometimes show but this is the most common one. Also sometimes when updating images in the gallery this error message shows.

    Hope you can help

    Regards.

@ultimateboss – The error message is pointing to a very low value for your PHP Memory Limit, I would recommend working with your web host to increase that to the absolute bare minimum of 64MB but hopefully you can get it raised to 128MB or preferably 256MB.

    Thanks!

    Hi again,

I got them to change the limit to 256MB but the problem is still happening, I disabled and re-activated it after the change and the error message still keeps happening.

@ultimateboss – The error message indicates a 40MB PHP Memory Limit … what is the specific error message you are now seeing?

It is exactly the same as before.

@ultimateboss – IF the message is *exactly* the same as before then the real PHP Memory Limit in your server environment has not been increased as your web host indicated. I would recommend them rechecking to ensure their changes took effect.

    Thanks!

I contacted them again to verify the change and it now appears (so far at least!) to be working smoothly.
