    Hello-

I am getting a fatal error on this page:
    https://freeocean.ru/ascension-experience/

Fatal error: Call to undefined function virtue_wp_pagenav() in /home/freeocea/public_html/wp-content/themes/virtue/home.php on line 40

Also it is displaying incorrect content. That is not the content on the wordpress backend. When I talked with my host (SiteGround) they said that the theme seemed corrupted. Can you take a look and recommend how I might solve this. Also let me know how I can give you access to the site in the event you need to login to our wordpress.

Lastly, I recommend using chrome so you can translate to english if need be.

    Please advise.

    Kim

UPDATE on this….my host temporarily patched the fatal error though the issue still remains that what you see on the front end of the site is not what is in the dashboard. Please read what SiteGround has said:

I have checked your website and noticed the error. However, as you could see from the from the error itself, it is caused by one of the files of your theme and not by any configuration on the server. I have modified that file and commented line 40 in it. That was the line on which the faulty function was defined. At the moment, the error is no longer present and the site is loading correctly. Please check the screenshot below:

    https://awesomescreenshot.com/0834ba2t1a

However, this is more of a temporary solution and you should consider contacting the developers of the theme and ask for their assistance on the matter. The file that is causing the error is:

    /home/freeocea/public_html/wp-content/themes/virtue/home.php

and the function that I have commented to fix the error is:

    virtue_wp_pagenav()

That functions is on line 40 of the file in question.

Should you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact us again.

    Hey,
That function is supposed to be there. and it exists in a theme functions file. So Your using a child theme, are you overriding a theme functions file? Because I’m thinking that would be the only way this would happen.

Thanks for your response. We don’t have anything being overriden in the child’s theme. I have that there to eventually change some language files, but have not gotten to it yet. So the child’s theme is empty.

    Please advise

What happens when you activate the parent theme?

When you update to version 2.3.3 did you do that through the wordpress admin?

Also why are you using 2.3.3 and not the latest version?

Nothing happens when I activate the parent theme, still having the same issue.

I am using 2.3.3 because I restored the site to prior to this issue and that took us back to 2.3.3 and obviously the issue still remains. I updated the parent now to 2.3.7.

    Please advise.

ok, now i’m confused? I though you issue was: “Fatal error: Call to undefined function virtue_wp_pagenav() in /home/freeocea/public_html/wp-content/themes/virtue/home.php on line 40”

But I don’t see that error on your site and the page navigation is working fine?

What I see is that your adding content to a page that you’ve set as your “post page” in the settings > reading. and posts pages only show posts. they won’t show any page content.

Oh! haha, I see that setting yes. I thought it was part of the fatal error. Let’s just forget that issue then, and back to the fatal error.

The reason the fatal error isn’t there is because of what I said at the very beginning about how my host “fixed it”…

In any case I updated the theme and the fatal error is no longer present so here’s hoping I’m error free moving forward. Thank you for your time.

Yeah, If you updated then the file that you host changed would have updated. Seeing as that page numbers where showing I think your fine to move forward.
