• Hi, I just tried to install a plugin and I received an error message. So I logged off and tried to log back on but am now unable to login and get the following error. Any ideas how to fix please?

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home3/jdgator/curemycramp.com/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 598

    do you have access to your webhosting account?
    if yes, then it is possible to remove the plugin you last installed without dashboard access.

    if the issue happened right after you installed a plugin, it might be related to the plugin.

    which plugin was most recently installed?

    Hi Lisa, thanks for the reply. Yes I believe I have access to my webhosting account. It happened immediately after I installed a plugin called ‘Async JavaScript’. How do I remove this without dashboard access please? Thanks.

    no dashboard access needed:

    if you have access to your webhosting account — you can access your Plugins folder via FTP
    -OR-
    if you have access to your webhosting account — you can access your Plugins folder in the file manager area of cPanel

    if you are not sure how to access the Plugins folder in your webhosting account, contact support team of webhosting vendor for guidance.

    Hi Lisa, I’m after some further advice if possible please?

    I had a look round my WP Plugins folder. I was certain that the last plugin I installed before the error was called ‘‘Async JavaScript’ but there is no mention of this in the plugin listings. I did install another around the same time called ‘leverage browser caching’ which is there. I have tried renaming this to disable it but it hasn’t worked and I still get the following error:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_get_current_user() in /home3/jdgator/curemycramp.com/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 590

    I have managed to open this php file but all line 590 refers to it appears is this request:

    $current_user = wp_get_current_user();

    Any further advice would be appreciated, thanks.
