Fatal error: Call to undefined function – After upgrade

I deleted Jetpack and installed it again (via the site) and I’m still getting this Fatal error: Call to undefined function inet_pton() in C:\domains\remakeme.nl\wwwroot\wp-content\plugins\jetpack\modules\protect.php on line 276????

What to do?

I can NOT get into my website as admin (forgot the NOT above).

I also sent a message/mail to support Jetpack.

I looked into a couple of the threads here and read somewhere to deactivate the Protect Module, and because my error stated that it had trouble with the protect.php I decided to deactivate the Protect Module. And now I have access again to the admin, login area.

Could you please let me know when this issue is solved, so that I can reactivate the Protect module again.

Yes you can, and if it is exactly the same issue with “protect.php” then it suffices to deactivate the Protect Module.

That’s correct. Once you’ve done so, could you try to activate this small plugin?

You can then reinstall and activate Jetpack again, and that should solve your issue.

The plugin patch provided by Jeremy works great. Steps to fix –
– Rename jetpack plugin folder
– Upload the patch plugin
– Activate the new plugin
– Rename the jetpack plugin folder back ??
– Reactivate

I’m also now having this issue, it just showed up. I’m kinda new to wordpress and not sure how to follow these instructions if I’m not able to log in through wp-admin or wp-login. I’ve connected to the site through FTP but can’t find the protect.php file… This is the web site https://hearthpi.com/ Help please!

If you have logged in to FTP, go to wp-content\plugins and rename jetpack folder.
Go to wp-admin of your website and add a new plugin that is provided by Jeremy here. Activate the plugin and rename back the folder you did in step 1.

I did this:

and was able to restore things. However, when I renamed the “jetpack_x” folder back to “jetpack”, it barfed. Returned to normal when I re-renamed it back to “jetpack_x”. Any idea why???
