• My site euonym.eu is failing to display, showing the following message:

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_parse_str() in /home/euonymeu/public_html/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2869

I looked at that section of the code, but it seems to correspond with what it should say according to https://developer.www.ads-software.com/reference/functions/wp_parse_args/

I can access the dashboard via wordpress.com, but not posts etc.

Can anyone explain and help me get my site back online? I can’t remember which version of WP I am using, though I updated it several months ago (not recently)

Try manually resetting your plugins (no Dashboard access required). If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

So I tried the manual resetting but nothing happened. So I did the second thing, and got a new error!

Fatal error: Call to undefined function wp_spaces_regexp() in /home/euonymeu/public_html/wp/wp-includes/functions.php on line 2823

Do I need to completely delete it and start again? I’m not sure where to find the posts so I can do that.

    Huh, that shouldn’t have happened.

Try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.
