Did you try deactivating and reactivating the plugin? Also, which version of WordPress are you running. Any other plugins change since the 2.6 update? I was unable to duplicate the error, but if you provide additional information we’ll have a better shot at narrowing down the issue.

I’m getting the same error after I updated the plugin to v2.6:
I’m using the Genesis Framework v2.1.2
    WordPress v4.0.1
I deactivated/reactivated the plugin still same issue
no other plugin changes since the upgrade

Fatal error: Call to undefined method WP_Error::resize() in ..../wp-content/plugins/maxgalleria/maxgalleria-image-gallery.php on line 597

    Thanks

Yep – exact same issue here. Karma Theme.

What are the sizes of images you are trying to upload?

I added one image 390×800 to an existing gallery of same size images and it broke. I have another gallery of same size images and it still works fine.

    i’m using WordPress v4.0.1
    Disable/Enable plugin doesn’t resolve probem.
Other plugins are ok after update to v2.6
    Example image size: 960×720

I’ve got the same error after upgrading to v 2.6 in wordpress 4.0.1

Same issue for me as well. Old galleries work fine, but any gallery I add an image to breaks that gallery. v2.6 of plugin and 4.0.1 wordpress.

After the update can’t get new gallery to show as it throws the error above. I’m using wp multi site. It does show dupes in file manager. The gallery shows 66 instead of 33 images. I tried going into next gen. and the gallery works fine in there. Then I imported that gallery into max and this time it did show 33 images but it still throws the fatal error so as of right now new galleries just don’t work.

    ??

Just to see if this is definitely 2.6 specific, can you all try downloading 2.5 here: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/maxgalleria/developers/

By determining that 2.5 was, in fact, a still stable version we can pinpoint the problem. Thanks for the continued patience as we work through this.

2.5 was my previous version (before update) on server and everything was ok

I’m currently running 2.5 on another site and there’s no issues there.

We’ve just released 2.6.1 which should contain a patch that fixes this. Please update and let us know.

    Well, it partially worked.

If I import a gallery from NextGen Gallery it displays perfectly.

However, if I add multiple images into a new gallery it’s doubling each image and inserting them into the gallery. So if it’s 33 images, then it shows 66 images.

At least it’s not throwing an error now… I call that progress.
