Fatal Error

  • Fatal error: Cannot call overloaded function for non-object in /home/ashliehale83/public_html/wp-includes/capabilities.php on line 1353, This is what keeps popping up. Also there are times when I try to switch to different pages or even go to my dash board and a blank white screen appears. I either have to keep refreshing it or exit out and try again. I just added Woo Commerce and I’m currently making some changes, so I added and deleted some themes just to see what I would like. But one Theme in particular I think messed up my website, badly. Shopping is what I think it was called, when I installed the theme it also added Omega and when I noticed I deleted omega and when I did that it also messed up shopping theme. It’s saying the shopping theme is still installed but it’s not on my themes list. Right now the theme I do have is Virtue. I just hope yall can help me and tell me what I need to do. Thanks ??

  • Shopping is a child theme of Omega theme – which means that you must have Omega installed (but not activated) to use Shopping theme.

    If you cannot delete the themes from your Dashboard, you will need to use FTP or another file manager to delete them from the server. They will be in

    wp-content
   themes
       find them in here

    Also, try deactivating all your plugins before doing the above.

    Hi Ashlie!

    Can you log into your site files (through FTP or perhaps a hosting account file manager), and navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate.

    You could also just delete the directory for the theme that you think is causing the problem, if you aren’t attached to it.

    Have you attempted what @wpyogi suggested?

    Fatal error in the output generally indicates either:
    (1) your theme doesn’t like your version of WordPress
    (2) you have a plugin that doesn’t like your version of WordPress
    (3) or you have an incomplete install/upgrade

    I did remove the theme, but now I’m still having problems, the error is still popping up and I can’t even go into theme options to activate the right theme. Blank pages are still popping up as well. I thought I could figure this out but I just can’t. My husband is a web developer and knows more about this he taught some things but this is above me. He’s not home, he had a few meetings and I’m just about to give up. Lol

    Find your plugins folder on the server and rename the entire folder to pluginsHOLD. You will need to use FTP or Cpanel to do this.
