    Hello Friends,

    I wonder if someone has found an answer to the Fatal error: Out of memory prompt?
    I have been through many posts and have not found any clear decisive answer but a clients website is down now and is stricken with this issue.

    I have de-Activated all the Plugins.
    She is using WP version: You are using WordPress 3.3.2
    Each time I select the blue button – WordPress 3.4.2 is available! Please update now.
    I just get the following prompt: Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 8388608) (tried to allocate 2688 bytes) in /homepages/20/d334711507/htdocs/wp-admin/includes/class-wp-upgrader.php on line 1372

    Website URL: https://www.gibsoncentre.com/home/

    I have spoken to the server, she is with and they have assured me that she has ample space available.
    I noticed that they have her set up on the PHP Dev (Global PHP Version). I tried switching over to PHP 5, but this did nothing.

    I had thought of using the FTP client to place a fresh copy of WP Version 3.4.2 on her server and then upload, thus overwriting the new install with the Child Theme & supporting files, but would this method also delete their posts or anything else they have created. They have a huge amount of their own posts.

    If anyone has any idea’s or answers to this I would very much appreciate hearing from you.

    Thank you all in advance for any / all help you can offer.

    I really appreciate your time and advice.

    David

    Hi Esmi,

    How are you?
    Thank you for the link.
    I have the php.ini file and have inserted the text from it.

    zend_optimizer.optimization_level=15
    zend_extension = /kunden/homepages/13/d425414544/htdocs/f8mate/assets/includes/ioncube_loader_lin_5.2.so

    Do you have an idea where I could insert the text the link recommends?

    Thank you Esmi, I really appreciate your help!

    David

    You may need to have a word with your hosts about that.

    Hello Esmi, and to anyone else who has experienced this problem.

    I realize that there have been many remedies posted for the issue of the Fatal error: Out of memory prompt.

    What I did and it worked was the following:

    As mentioned in my original post I noticed on the server that I noticed that they had the client on a -PHP Dev- setting for the PHP Version. I had tried switching over to PHP 5 and at the time I did not see a change.

    I logged out and logged back in and repeated the process and it worked!

    I hope this information is of use to someone.
