• Hi.

I’ve only just started using wordpress yesterday. All was going well until I installed a template and now I can’t get in to do anything. It’s showing this error message:

Warning: require(/home/maycla12/public_html/wp-content/themes/shelley/inc/custom-header.php) [function.require]: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /home/maycla12/public_html/wp-content/themes/shelley/functions.php on line 183

Fatal error: require() [function.require]: Failed opening required ‘/home/maycla12/public_html/wp-content/themes/shelley/inc/custom-header.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/alt/php53/usr/share/pear:/opt/alt/php53/usr/share/php’) in /home/maycla12/public_html/wp-content/themes/shelley/functions.php on line 18

Hope to hear from you soon! Thanks!

Try deactivating all plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, try switching to the default theme for your version of WordPress to rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins). i think this is your theme issue.

Thanks for your reply! Unfortunately, its that corrupted that I now can’t even past the login pop up box to make any changes.

Try renaming the shelley theme folder using an FTP client to something like shelley-bad. That will force WordPress to fall back to one of the default themes it came with, like Twenty Sixteen.
