Fatal error: can’t login to admin

Try resetting the plugins folder by FTP or phpMyAdmin. If you manage it, use the PhpMyAdmin route as it has a slightly better success rate where bad plugins are involved.

I did what you suggested but it didn’t make a difference. Could it be something else?

I should also mention that the site itself is working fine, it’s just the admin area which is displaying this error.

I had this problem, and simply reloaded the original wp-config file via my FTP.

It sorted out my problem. I hope it helps you.

Try re-uploading the wp-includes and wp-admin folders.
