I am trying to activate cform2 and getting this error:

Warning: Illegal string offset ‘global’ in /home/wp_ajkwxz/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/cforms2/lib_activate.php on line 28

Fatal error: Cannot use string offset as an array in /home/wp_ajkwxz/mysite.com/wp-content/plugins/cforms2/lib_activate.php on line 28

I deleted the old version and even dropped the database tables (after saving the data). In order to do a ‘fresh’ install. But still this error displays and no activation is possible.

Can someone please help me with this?

    Many Thanks.

So which PHP and cformsII versions do you use?

    Hi,

    Thanks for your reply.

The version of PHP is 5.6 (CGI), using Dreamhost hosting.

    cformsII is 14.11.4

    Thanks

Just for the record: did you only drop the cforms database tables or all wordpress tables?

If you just deleted the cforms tables: deleting cforms_settings WordPress option should do the trick.

This is in the wp_options table by default.

    Hi,

I deleted only the wp_cforms tables and deleted the wp_options entry for cforms.

Hoping that ‘freshly’ installing the plugin would activate it. But it did not?

    So, the error still occurs.

Just tried it again now – still happening.

    You can try https://github.com/bgermann/cforms2/commit/d0f70c53164eb545739d5fceb99a9d9102ec68ec

This will be included with the next version also.

    Hi Bgermann,

I have updated the plugin and it now activates. But still gives me the data corruption message in the settings:

So, when I click [RESET] nothing happens. It does not reset. The raw-code window is also blank.

    Please advise.

Does really nothing happen? It should at least send a HTTP POST request to the same url on RESET. Try a different, current browser if that is not the case.

    Hi,

Tried the same in Firefox (was using Chrome before). Exactly the same result.

Nothing happens. Tried it a few times.

Same error… Fatal error: session_start(): Failed to initialize storage module: user (path: ) hope something could be done… ??

    Tnx!

@kozmikdesign It is not the same error. It’s just the same error class. Please open another issue for it.
