Fatal error: Class 'WPSEO_Options'

Many thanks for a really great plugin. Essential, I would call it.

I renamed it via FTP, went back to admin, clicked the view info popup on the now deactivated plugin, clicked update (to 1.7.3.3) and voila. It even renamed the directory back to standard, which I thought was very cool.

I had version 1.7.3.1 running (I updated, found the problem and reverted to previous version) so, when I found version 1.7.3.3 available, I updated it using WordPress updater but it crashed again.

I deleted the wordpress-seo directory using FTP and uploaded v1.7.3.3 using FTP, now it does works!!!

Same – fully deleted with FTP – then added from dashboard – now works and with all original settings intact

So best way for you to fix this – since you can’t access your dashboard.

FTP to your site – or use Cpanel – or some other method to view your folders.

Go to your plugins directory usually something like

public_html/site.com/wp-content/plugins

fine the folder named “wordpress-seo”

Rename that folder to “wordpress-seo2” (or whatever you want)

Now you’ll be able to get into your dashboard. Then go to your updates section – and you’ll see that you’ll have an update for WordPress-Seo

Download that update – install it – right through wordpress. Then go back to your plugins list on WordPress, and activate the plugin. The update will rewrite the folder back to the correct name, so you don’t have to rename it again.

Not fixed for me and don’t know how to do those things you guys are talking about here. I am getting this error in both my wordpress sites and wp-admin: Fatal error: Class ‘WPSEO_Options’ not found in /home2/rags/public_html/sport-betting-links.com/wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/wp-seo-main.php on line 216

It works perfectly now. Folks, please read what others are trying to say to get this plugin working, all of them explain how to get the corrected version up and running. No need to continue to add to this thread.

What should I do to get my admin panel work again?

I followed Innervates advice, but when I log back into dashboard and go to plugins, it gives me the same error (even though I have moved the plugin in FTP to a different folder to deactivate it).
Thoughts anyone?
