    When I try to access my site or its admin page, I find the following error:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘W3TC\Util_Environment’ not found in /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Config.php:118 Stack trace: #0 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Dispatcher.php(16): W3TC\Config->__construct() #1 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Dispatcher.php(26): W3TC\Dispatcher::component(‘Config’) #2 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Mobile_Redirect.php(16): W3TC\Dispatcher::config() #3 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Dispatcher.php(16): W3TC\Mobile_Redirect->__construct() #4 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-content/advanced-cache.php(31): W3TC\Dispatcher::component(‘Mobile_Redirect’) #5 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-settings.php(97): include(‘/home/ingvenni/…’) #6 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-config.php(93): require_once(‘/home/ingvenni/…’) #7 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-load.php(37): require_once(‘/home/ingvenni/…’) #8 /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-blog-header.php(13 in /home/ingvenni/public_html/wp-content/plugins/w3-total-cache/Config.php on line 118

    I tried deleting my cache and cookies, to no avail. Also tried looking for “fatal error” in this forum, but the replies seemed to involve different plugins and were quite a bit older than the current version of WordPress. I have no technical skills in this area and would greatly appreciate any help. ??

  • @ingvenning,

    There is some error in your W3 Total Cache plugin. Please access your site using FTP or Control panel and rename this folder w3-total-cache from wp-content/plugins to different name. This will deactivate W3 Total Cache and should allow you to access the admin panel.

    After that you should be able to access your site. You can then go to plugins and delete the W3 Total cache and try re-installing it.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks

    Hi there. Did you try to deactivate the W3 Total Cache and see if the site recovers?

    Hi there!

    From the looks of things you haven’t been able to deactivate the plugin yet. What have you tried so far?

    There are some ways in which you can deactivate that but each may vary based on your comfort level and possible knowledge of some tools like command line or MySQL.

    Let us know so we can better help steer you in the right direction.

    Thank you all – and especially dnesscarkey – so much for your help! I could never have figured this out without you.

    I renamed the w3totalcache folder, which allowed me access to my admin page. I saw a message telling me to delete the advanced cache file, so I did this. Then I deleted w3 total cache and reinstalled it, and now my site is up again!

    This is awesome ??
