“Fatal error …. dashboard.php on line 13”

  • Tried to log into my dashboard on my sandbox site, https://testlab.popularlogistics.com

    Got the following error message:

    Fatal error: Call to undefined function register_sidebar() in /home/popularl/public_html/testlab/wp-admin/includes/dashboard.php on line 13

    Looked in the forum – several people had this error message, apparently having to do with a plugin called “disable all plugins” – I don’t have that installed.

    Tried to reinstall – my host uses Fantastico – so reinstalled 2.5.1 over what HAD BEEN a working install of 2.6

    The other installs of WordPress on my server are behaving themselves. I have FTP access – but don’t know what to delete – except to delete everything and start over.

    Does anyone have any thoughts/suggestions?

  • It could be the template your are using. Or a plugin.

    Do you think I should start by deleting the current template – and then plugins? Seems a reasonable strategy.

    I would rename your plugins directory. That should first unload all plugins.

    i’m getting a similar error, although it’s the wp-settings.php on line 203. i was in my site drafting a post, then clicked on save. then i get this error on my domain and when i try to log-in my WordPress.

    help please.
