Fatal error due to PHP version

  • Hi! I just activated the WP encrypt plugin and a fatal error was shown. According to my Cpanel details and to my host provider, my PHP version is 5.6.27; however, the plugin shows a message saying that I have 5.2.17 PHP version… I am not an expert so I was wondering how this could happen and how can I solve it… It is OK if I change my version to 5.3? Would there be any problem?
