I am using the latest version of Google Events Calendar on the latest WP install and I get an error every once in a while on the following page: https://wivictorian.com/availability/

It doesn’t happen every time. Maybe one in 10 tries. It also happens in the middle widget of my footer. Sometimes, though, I see this error on page after page. Here’s what I’m seeing.

Fatal error: GCE_Display::get_event_days(): The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "GCE_Event" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data01/22/2083022/html/wp-content/plugins/google-calendar-events/includes/class-gce-display.php on line 69

I love the simplicity and design of this plugin. I am hoping you can tell me what’s going on.

I am not sure why that is happening for you. I have not encountered an error like this while testing.

I will see if I can dig up some information about why this might be happening and see if we can get it nailed down for you.

    Some initial questions:

    – Does it happen if you disable your other plugins?
    – What about switching to a default theme, any issues then?
    – Do you have any sort of caching plugins or plugins that are trying to cache code to make things run faster?

Thanks for pointing this out to us.

Is this still an issue for you on the latest release?

I still haven’t been able to reproduce this at this point.

Let me know and I will do my best to help.

    Thanks!

It seems like the latest release has fixed the problem. I am no longer able to reproduce this issue.

Awesome, thanks for letting us know!

This is now happening to our site: https://highcrestpto.org/

The specific error I’ve gotten is:
Fatal error: GCE_Display::get_event_days(): The script tried to execute a method or access a property of an incomplete object. Please ensure that the class definition "GCE_Event" of the object you are trying to operate on was loaded _before_ unserialize() gets called or provide a __autoload() function to load the class definition in /home/content/p3nexnas06_data03/06/2162706/html/wp-content/plugins/google-calendar-events/includes/class-gce-display.php on line 61

A shift-reload will make it go away. And another might make it come back.

Our host is running some sort of caching functionality.

Thanks for any help you can offer.

    @slb535,

Thanks for the additional information. Is it a caching plugin or just something on the server that is utilizing caching?
