• Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_option() in /xxxx/plugins/genesis-custom-headers/inc/gch-frontend-views.php on line 13

Wow, this caused me some headaches let me tell you! A client of mine at https://43folderstech.net kept getting this error, but ONLY when accessing their site from a mobile device. Not from desktop, regardless of browser.

Weird, huh?! I messed around for a while, even went in and hard coded an include to the genesis options.php file, but no dice. I kept thinking to myself “It’s as if GCH doesn’t recognize genesis as the active theme on mobile or something?”

Which of course is when it hit me – JetPack!! That’s right, my client went in and “fixed” things without telling me, activating jetpack’s ‘mobile theme’ option!!! Guess, what? That’s NOT a genesis theme no more, so GCH goes into fits on it.

Anyways, thought I’d share after figuring that out … LOVE your plugin, working up to throwing some of my own on the fire ((not worthy)). Hope this helps someone!

    Hi mkastler,

Thanks for pointing this out. There are checks in the plugin that deactivate GCH if a Genesis theme is no longer active. This doesn’t work with the Jetpack issue, because the theme is still active, JetPack just overrides it on mobile devices. I have yet to come up with a solution for this, but will keep digging…that mobile option in JetPack is the worst ??

    Nick
