Fatal error: Internal Zend error on 5.3

  • As always thank you for this great plugin.

    Just hit a small snag with my WP admin functions after updating to 5.3

    I tried to access admin of Pages. Got an error as follows:

    Fatal error: Internal Zend error - Missing class information for in /home/content/06/7129406/html/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/admin/api-libs/googleanalytics/class-api-googleanalytics.php on line 5

    Got back into admin of Plugins, deactivated this plugin and that fixed the problem. Tried activating this plugin again and problem re-appeared. I’ve read that others have hit this snag and based on the status of these posts, the problem has been “resolved”. I’m sorry but I can’t quite work out HOW they solved this problem.

    Any help on what I need to do would be greatly appreciated.

  • I had a similar problem but a different plugin. The wp-super-cache plugin was causing the same error.

    My search on the internet brought many different solutions, but some of them require access to the server files. Something which my host doesn’t give me clearance.

    I changed php version from 5.3 to 5.4 and that fixed the problem for me.
