    I was activating a few plugins and now cannot access my WP admin area or onlne blog I get the message:

    <b>Fatal error</b>: Cannot redeclare poll_menu() (previously declared in /home/heroindi/public_html/maryblackchurch/wp-content/plugins/polls-debug.php:39) in <b>/home/heroindi/public_html/maryblackchurch/wp-content/plugins/polls.php</b> on line <b>38</b>

    I tried going hitting back and deactvating the plugins..it wouldn’t take..and now I cannot even do that.

  • Just delete the plugins through your FTP client. Worked fot me.

    Can anyone tell which plugin is causing it..in the error message it says ‘poll_menu.’ I recall a description under one of the plugins I activated having those words I think (or even in the name itself). Would it be that one?

    Trying to find that particular description and name at WP Plugins. Am a little freaked about deleting them all as I haven’t masterd the whole FTP thing..and with my luck I’ll delete everything.

    Guess I’m gonna have to get moving on the whole ‘learning it’ thing real quick.

    :O( :O)

    It would probably be best if you downloaded them again (from your FTP client) then delete the ones you believe may be causing the problem. Should that fix the problem, reupload each plugin file one by one till you come across the one that causes the error.

    Just an idea. Although, it’s a pretty safe bet that “polls.php” is causing the problem.

    Another question please..in my plugins folder there are a bunch of ‘polls’ related files..like polls debug..polls install/manager/upgrade and upgrade202 options. Do I delete all those too. Are they a part of the polls.php?

    Quote:”No problem. I hope everything goes smoothly. :)”

    me too..lol

    Thanks again Devil =^. .^=

    Can you remember where you downloaded that polls plugin? Just check to see what files came with that and delete the files accordingly.

    Good luck, again. ??

    JUst something I wanted add should someone ever have this same problem. I used the fix Devilmaycry suggested and much appreciated his help.

    When I got back into my WP manager I saw this suggestion at the bottom of the plugins page:

    “If something goes wrong with a plugin and you can’t use WordPress, delete or rename that file in the wp-content/plugins directory and it will be automatically deactivated.”

    So there you have in folks..it pays to read and remember.
