    Hi,

I had a fatal error message that I requested help about a few weeks back, and then I came across a post here

    https://github.com/woocommerce/woocommerce/issues/22068

that had the same fatal error message and I was able to fix the issue and the website worked. I did some changes as was shown in that post.

Now since the update to wordpress about a week a go, the error has returned with similar/same error message. It comes when trying to view some of the products in admin area.

Please advice me how to make the changes to the php file that will stay put until I can update all the csv file inputs that seem to have been causing the issue ( something about parent image, I think I must have put something in the wrong column in the csv file I uploaded)

    Hi,

Here is an update, I have managed to fix it again and I have changed the code in my cpanel on siteground, I have edited the php file and then saved it. I got the code from the github link above!

Will this now fix the problem permanently or do I need to do something further to prevent this error message ocurring?

I am learning as I go and did not want to restart the website and did not know how to delete the uploaded csv file, but someone mentioned editing php so I gave that a go.

    Hi @abyfat,

According to the GitHub issue you shared, this has been identified as bug in WooCommerce. Changing the plugin files to include the code in that thread fixes the issue temporarily, however, every time you update the plugin, that temporary code fix will be removed.

This will stop happening once the fix is included in an official release of WooCommerce.

On that GitHub link, I can see that this has been scheduled to be included as an “official” fix in version 3.5.4 of WooCommerce. Once the fix is included in a release of the plugin, you will be able to stop fixing this manually (by adding the code) after each update.

When the next WooCommerce version is released, check the changelong and release notes of the update, to verify whether this fix in particular is included.

    Hopefully this clarifies things!

We haven’t heard back from you in a while, so I’m going to mark this as resolved – if you have any further questions, you can start a new thread.
