Fatal Error on activating plugin

  • I’m getting this error message when I try to activate the plugin.

    “Parse error: syntax error, unexpected ‘:’, expecting ‘;’ or ‘{‘ in /var/www/vhosts/97/593847/webspace/siteapps/WordPress-104161/htdocs/wp-content/plugins/ninja-gdpr-compliance/vendor/geoip2/geoip2/src/Database/Reader.php on line 71“

    Is this a PHP/wordpress compatibility error?

    Which PHP version you are you using please?

    Are you using the GDPR CCPA Compliance Support plugin in the latest version? Currently, the newest version is 2.6.1

    Thank you for your help Mia.

    I think that’s the problem, I’m unable to upgrade PHP to the latest version. I’m currently running  PHP 5.6.40 

    Do you perhaps have a legacy (unsupported) version of the plugin that I could use on my current version?

    Perhaps the php version is very old, please upgrade it to >=7.2 version.
