I am unable to activate the Mailpoet 3 plugin.
When I try i get error:

Fatal error: Call to a member function add_cap() on null in /var/www/---/wp-content/plugins/mailpoet/lib/Config/Capabilities.php on line 30

I had this same problem. You can comment out line 30 and it will activate, but then you will need to grant the permissions manually per role. I use the Members plugin (https://themehybrid.com/plugins/members) so I was able to easily grant the permissions there.

    Thanks for the solution!

Anyway, I don’t think that this is the right way, especially if you have paid 249€ for a license.

No problem! It’s defintiely not the best solution, but it gets the job done until the plugin’s author updates the plugin to fix this issue.

I only use the free features so just being able to use the plugin is a whole lot better than having my newsletter stall while I wait for a fix. Plus, I didn’t have to uninstall and lose all my newsletters and lists.

Thank you to all who reported the issue. The fix will be included in today’s (October 17) release.
