  • I had the same error on one of my websites. It was caused by a plugin conflict with WooPayments in my case.

    Hello
Thank you for bringing this to our attention.

It appears that the recent update to WooPayments has caused a conflict leading to the error you’re experiencing. We have already informed the WooCommerce team, and they are working diligently to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

In the meantime, we have a workaround that should help. Please try using this special version of the PayPal Payments plugin, which is designed to bypass the error temporarily until a permanent solution is deployed.

Additionally, we would greatly appreciate your feedback on whether this workaround resolves the issue for you. Your input is invaluable in helping us ensure the best possible experience for all our users.
We appreciate your patience and understanding. If you have any further questions or need assistance, please don’t hesitate to reach out.

    Regards,

My website is getting this error when the plugin is active.

“An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 47 of the file /wp-content/plugins/woocommerce-paypal-payments/modules/ppcp-blocks/extensions.php. Error message: Uncaught Error: Call to undefined function”

Is this the same problem? It seems similar if slightly different error message.

Downloading the fix has stopped the fatal error, but I have not checked to see whether it is still possible to buy things. So only a superficial check.

The replacement plugin worked, but I had to get Siteground to help turn off the plugin since I couldn’t even access the back end. Gah! If this is a temp fix, will the real fix be autoupdated?

The special version worked! Just wondering if it will also be updated automatically when you release the official fix for the plugin?

WooPayments has an update which resolves the issue.

    8.0.1 – 2024-07-31

    • Fix – Reverts changes related to Direct Checkout that broke the PayPal extension.

How do I stop the never ending email responses to this thread?
