Fatal Error On Home Page

  • Hello,

    I am brand new to word press and just installed the Venedor Theme, I was playing around with some options and ended up with this error –

    Fatal error: Cannot redeclare layerslider_init() (previously declared in /home3/badboy/public_html/wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/wp/shortcodes.php:6) in /home3/badboy/public_html/wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/wp/shortcodes.php on line 47

    I tried to fix it but now it’s in there twice.

    Can someone please help me fix this.

  • Hi Kevin,

    The easiest way to get your site back up again is to access your site’s files (e.g., SSH, SFTP, ask your host for help) and remove your Venedor Theme from the themes folder. This will force your site to use a different theme and thus happiness for you should occur.

    Then, once your site is back up I would suggest creating a different site to test out new themes, plugins, and tweaks. This way, *when* something fails, it won’t take down your live site. Oh, and be sure to always backup your site — especially your live site — before making any kind of changes. This way you’ll always have a way to quickly revert back to an operational state.

    P.S., Of course, once you can access your site’s files then you could just delete the current Venedor Theme and replace it with a fresh new copy. ??

    Hi Randy,

    Thank you for your quick response , Ok I will take it out and maybe put it back in, I amd having a huge problem with that theme, I bought it and it is suppose to have 14 diff templates ,and only the default one works ??

    I am so new to wordpress, and all of this, but am very computer savy, as I build , repair and troubleshoot all software related issues, and have done programming etc, LOL but , here is a new venture for me ?? I love it actually even though I am getting mad all the time lol.

    I was wondering if you know of a good E-Commerce theme ??

    as the error is in /wp-content/plugins/LayerSlider/wp/shortcodes.php, it looks like the ‘LayerSlider’ plugin got corrupted;

    try to use FTP to remove the plugin, and then re-install a fresh version.

    you might want to discuss this directly with the plugin’s developer, as teh plugin does not seem to come from https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/

    Yeah I went in ftp style, then I thought hmmm, if I uninstall the plugin that should fix it, so I did and whaaalaaa fixed !

    Thank you for your help, it was an easy fix , but I am new to this, still learnin here !

    I am facing this issue when I use only “FRONTEND EDITOR”. Rest are fine.Please support

    I’m sorry we don’t support that LayerSlider plugin, you should contact the people who gave this plugin to you.
