I’m receiving the error message below when I try to access my site from mobile.

Fatal error: Call to undefined function genesis_get_option() in /home/content/p3pnexwpnas03_data01/29/2467929/html/wp-content/plugins/genesis-custom-headers/inc/gch-frontend-views.php on line 13

I looked at the other related support threads, but there doesn’t seem to be a definitive answer. I also saw on another thread that the theme folder may need to be renamed?

I am using Simply Pro child theme if that helps. https://my.studiopress.com/themes/simply/

    Any assistance would be appreciated.

    Hi yvacree2,

    A couple things…

Are you using any other plugins that modify the mobile view of your website? And just to confirm, you don’t get this error on desktop, right?

Secondly, this is a third-party theme that I unfortunately do not have access to. If you are not using any other plugins that might be interfering somehow, than this might be an issue with the theme and I would need to see the theme’s source code to diagnose further. If you want, you can send the zipped version of the theme to [email protected] and I will take a look.

    Thanks,
    Nick

    Hi Nick,

Thanks for responding. After digging some more in the forums, it appears that the custom headers plugin is incompatible with the jetpack mobile component. So I have disabled the plugin for now and the mobile view is working again.

    Thanks.

    Hi yvacree2,

Yes the reason for that is that this plugin requires Genesis to be running. When you use the mobile theme through Jetpack it actually disables Genesis in a way and since the plugin requires Genesis functions and Genesis hooks, it breaks.

Out of complete curiosity, why are you using that Jetpack feature since the theme you are running is already mobile responsive and should look pretty good on mobile.

    Hi Nick,

It was on from a previous theme. I actually disabled the jetpack mobile feature first before deactivating the plugin, but it was still giving me the error message.
