Fatal Error On Version 5.2.7

  • Google Analytics by Yoast is throwing up a fatal error that breaks my admin area entirely:

    Fatal Error: Internal Zend error – Missing class information for in ***/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/admin/api-libs/googleanalytics/class-api-googleanalytics.php on line 5
    Description
    The Google Analytics by Yoast plugin code created an error that caused PHP execution to fail.

    I’m running WP 4.1, PHP version 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.14.

    The full error is:

    Type Zend Compile-Time Error (E_COMPILE_ERROR)
    Message Internal Zend error – Missing class information for
    File *****/wp-content/plugins/google-analytics-for-wordpress/admin/api-libs/googleanalytics/class-api-googleanalytics.php
    Line 5
    Type Description This type of error indicates that the PHP code is violating a restriction enforced by PHP. An example of such a violation is trying to use a reserved word for a class or function name.

    Had to uninstall the plugin… help..?

  • Same problem. Occurs when editing old posts. doesn’t appear to stop the site running.

    I get the same when I try to update, activate and deactivate plugins.

    Could you please write full bug reports in this issue on GitHub to help us reproduce and solve this problem?

    I was able to fix it by turning off APC
    https://support.godaddy.com/help/article/7910/disabling-apc-on-your-hosting-account

    Thanks @laserjobs, turning off APC seems to have resolved it for me.
