@milchladen – Have you tried to increase the PHP Memory Limit your server is using to at least 128MB (preferably 256MB)?

You may need to speak with your web hosting service to sort this out.

    Thanks!

Hey after your small update some post works and other not!! When you write I need 128 or 256 MB memory than is this a joke!!

My provider hgive me 96MB and from this the WP need about 15MB. So tell how many user have such a big memory from mor than 128 MB??? I think NexGen need to much memory!!

This problem starts since version 2.0 from NexGen!!!

Since the 2. versions the plugin does not clear the database anymore. You can have your hoster set the memory limit to 2 GB and it still will be slow.

You have to clear the empty datalinks in the database.

Memory use of my page after NextGEN 2.0 [moderated] 170 MB
Memory use of my page after repairing database: 55 MB

@milchladen – It is not all that uncommon to have the server PHP Memory Limit set to 128 or higher. In the case of NextGEN Gallery, it is recommended for it to be at least 128.

This allows for all of the potential processing that may occur. In some cases, you may be able to use the plugin with a lower PHP Memory Limit and see no ill effects. It would be quite unfortunate if your web host is limiting you to only 96 and that is the cause for the current version of NextGEN Gallery to not work on your site.
