    Greetings,

    I have installed the newest update to the plugin and I was suddenly greeted with this message:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘WP_Defender\Controller\Tutorial’ not found in /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/defender-security/main-activator.php:238 Stack trace: #0 /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(287): WD_Main_Activator->init(”) #1 /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(311): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #2 /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-includes/plugin.php(478): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #3 /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-settings.php(546): do_action(‘init’) #4 /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-config.php(90): require_once(‘/autoinstalator…’) #5 /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-load.php(37): require_once(‘/autoinstalator…’) #6 /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-blog-header.php(13): require_once(‘/autoinstalator…’) #7 /autoinstalator/wordpress/index.php(17): require(‘/autoinstalator…’) #8 {main} thrown in /autoinstalator/wordpress/wp-content/plugins/defender-security/main-activator.php on line 238

    I am not very IT savvy so I just called up my hosting company and they deactivated the plugin. There is another issue with my domain and I have to register a new one but this happened before my domain expired. I just wanted to show you guys that there might be an issue with the newest update. I keep the plugin deactivated for now, as the site is not accessible right now anyway.

    But is there a way to revert to an older version of this plugin? I don’t know when my site will be back online but I would like to have some sort of security when the time comes.

    Regards,
    Lalwende

  • That happened to me too. I renamed it in FTP and was able to log in and delete the plugin and now site is working again. Same error message about tutorial. I hope we get a response soon.

    I reinstalled – and disabled autoupdate – and maybe that fixes it. Otherwise, the plugin has been very reliable, so I’m guessing it may have succumbed to autoupdate.

    Hi @lalwende

    Sorry to hear you are having this problem.

    Could you please try to reinstall the plugin and check if this makes any difference?

    You can remove the disabled version, and then install it again from the WordPress > Plugins > Add New

    I tested updating on my end but I couldn’t replicate the problem.

    Hey @dskirk

    Can you confirm that the plugin is working now?

    In case the problem persists, could you please create a new ticket and we can take a closer look.

    Best Regards

    Thanks for responding, Patrick. Yes, after reinstalling, everything is working fine. Defender is a great plugin and my guess is the autoupdate may have caused the issue. I don’t anticipate any problems, but if one emerges, I’ll open a new ticket.
