Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘WPSEO_Shortlinker’

    After the latest update I cannot log into my wp-admin. I get this error:

    Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Class ‘WPSEO_Shortlinker’ not found in /wp-content/plugins/wordpress-seo/admin/class-product-upsell-notice.php:137

  • Working on all our sites just fine.

    TEST:
    a) check you have required version of PHP for your site
    b) check you are running WordPress 4.7.3
    c) manually delete old plugin folder via FTP
    d) manually install new plugin via FTP
    e) resave permalinks
    f) clear transients with WP-Optimize or similar.

    Best way to update if you have random oddball issues on updating.

    I also experienced this when using the standard plugin update process (not manually removing and installing as suggested), that should not need to happen for minor updates like this.

    I can’t easily clear any transients since this breaks the entire admin interface…

    I am running an OpCode cacher on my server, so my guess is that cache needed to be cleared (I commented out the UpSell feature calls in the plugin…selling me shouldn’t cause the plugin to break).

    I am also getting this error. I just updated a bunch of plugins, tried to go widgets and get this error. Now I cannot do anything. Does anyone have a clear reason and solution by chance?
